Not good news, but i guess i havent gone to a swap meet for a while unless in needed something on sunday for some reason.

Having said that, they were always good for having a lot of stores at the one place, so you could be certain you'd get the best price.

Even 5 years ago though my dad did indeed swap some second hand printer parts with a guy who had a stall there.

Just because the name doesn't apply now doesn't mean it should be closed down.

Have seen the computer trader mag for sale here in Sydney, but never realy purchased it as judging by all the adds and content it was mainly aimed at Victorians so it was fairly pointless selling it here in NSW. You'd be laughed in the face and told to p***s off.

Hopefully somebody will now come in and setup real "swapmeets" where only secondhand computer bits can be sold or traded for. They started as a place for swapping old hardware, just that it's grown from there.

Now all easy weekend access to cheap secondhand goods vanishes and everybody has to buy new stuff at retail outlets, and a lot of otherwise good stuff gets dumped because there is nowhere to sell it.
